Workers’ compensation attorney Justin Litvack has been selected by his fellow partners at Boxer & Gerson, LLP as the managing partner effective January, 2019, exactly a year after becoming a partner. The managing partner is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the firm’s more than 50 attorneys, legal assistants and support staff in four Bay Area locations.
Litvack succeeds John Harrigan, who served 15 years in the post while also continuing to represent clients in workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability cases. Harrigan will now devote all his time to that practice as Litvack assumes managing partner duties.
Litvack joined Boxer & Gerson in 2013 after spending the first seven years of his legal career in a workers’ compensation firm representing defendants such as insurance carriers and large self-insured employers. He had become a partner there before joining Boxer & Gerson with the express desire of representing workers after he had witnessed first-hand the many challenges they face in navigating the workers’ compensation system.
“John’s are awfully big shoes to fill, and there’s no way to adequately summarize what his management has meant to this firm over such a long tenure,” said Litvack. “But the entire staff appreciates the guidance and wisdom he brought to this role, and we all owe him a huge debt of gratitude. One thing I feel great about is that his office is just a few doors down from mine, and I can guarantee I will be walking down his way with regularity in the coming months.”
Litvack will also be supported by a newly formed management committee that besides himself includes Boxer & Gerson Partners Ralph Mann, Maria Grasso, and Gary Roth. Mann and Sager are both certified workers’ compensation specialists, while Roth is a personal injury attorney. The quartet of committee members boasts more than 75 years of experience as practicing attorneys in the State of California.
